Workspaces

Create a workspace to edit multiple files at once

With Editey you can work on your web project and edit multiple files at once.

You can use Editey as a code playground or to work on your web projects.

As Editey works on your Google Drive files it is very easy to add assets like images, fonts, stylesheets and more. Just put them into your project folder or into a subfolder in your project on your drive and link the asset from your code.

Creating a workspace

Copy an example project

If you have copied one of the example projects from the template gallery you will find the workspace on your Google Drive.

You can open the workspace right from the popup that opens after the copy of the project is complete.

Open a folder with Editey

If you have a web project that you’ve created with another tool or that you’ve downloaded and stored on Google Drive you can simply open the root folder of the project with Editey to create a blank workspace for this project.

After opening the workspace Editey will open a file browser so that you can add files to your workspace.

Opening a workspace

Access your workspace from Google Drive

If you have created a workspace you will find a red Editey file on Google Drive in your project folder. This is the workspace and can be opened with Editey right from Google Drive.

Open workspaces from Editey home page

Go to https://www.editey.com and login with your Google account to find all files and workspaces you’ve been working on.

Just click on the workspace files that can be identified by the red Editey icon to jump to the selected workspace.

Renaming a workspace

When opening a workspace you will find both the project name and the name of the workspace in the top left corner.

The project name is the name of the root folder of your project.

Click on the workspace name on the right to rename your workspace. You can also rename the workspace right on Google Drive.

Adding files

Add files to your workspace by clicking Add files to workspace in the Edit menu item.

Creating workspaces

Create an Editey workspace by clicking the New button in your Google Drive. You will be redirected to the Example Gallery of Editey and can create an empty workspace or choose a template to be copy to your Google Drive.

You can also create an Editey wokspace for an existing project by right-clicking on a folder on your Google Drive and selecting Open with... Editey from the top menu.

Removing files

Remove files from your workspace by simply clicking on the X icon to the right of the open file name.
