Basics

Files and Workspaces

Editey can be used to edit individual files (e.g. a single HTML page).

The files of your web project, such as HTLM, JavaScript or CSS files, can also be opened in a workspace with Editey and thus displayed and edited side by side at the same time. Like all other files in your web project, the workspace is stored in a project folder.

First steps

Start with a template from the Editey-Gallery or with an already existing file or project.

Starting with a Template

If you copy one of the sample projects from the templates, you will find the project folder with all files and the workspace on your Google Drive.

Open the workspace or individual files either from Google Drive or directly from the pop-up menu that appears when you finish copying.

Edit an existing project

Web projects created with another tool or downloaded and saved on Google Drive can also be edited with Editey.

Simply select the project folder in Google Drive and choose Open with ... Editey. Editey will then create a workspace for this project, which will open in the browser and to which you can add various files from your web project.

Working with individual files

Individual files, such as HTLM, JavaScript or CSS files, can also be opened and edited directly from Google Drive via Open with ... Editey or from the Editey homepage.

The following instructions will show you how working with individual files differs from working with workspaces.
